“The central Wisconsin area provides an escape that’s both tranquil and exciting,” says John. Maybe that’s why the Wisconsin River is where John spends much of his free time – kayaking and fresh water fishing.
As he cruises past the bluffs and rock formations that jut out of the waters along the river, he might latch on to the occasional bass, walleye or pike, and battle it out with his rod and reel. “I love being out in nature,” John says. “It’s my time to catch up on prayer, gain fresh perspective and just relax. It’s what keeps me centered.”
John grew up in the city of St. Francis, just outside Milwaukee, and earned his Associate Degree in Architecture from the Milwaukee Area Technical College in 1977. Prior to joining Addison-Clifton, he worked as a senior application engineer at NABCO Entrances, Inc. where he managed the company’s product certification compliance files for various clients. He also helped author, publish and teach safety standards for products used throughout North America and is the inventor and holder of two patents for automatic door technologies.
John’s background provided a smooth transition from product compliance to import and export trade compliance. As a Senior Advisor for Addison-Clifton, he is responsible for managing projects, working on client assignments and finding solutions to complex trade compliance challenges. “Whether it’s at home, church or at work, the opportunity to help others is what motivates me daily. Working with clients to meet their needs and knowing they are satisfied with the solution is truly rewarding,” says John.
John’s adventurous spirit and passionate nature are not only reflected through his hobbies and outside interests, but in the attitude he brings to his work and clients.
